Audrey Justine Tautou is a French model and actress from France who became famous with her portrayal of the shy and eccentric waitress from romance film Amelie that won her numerous prizes and awards. Tautou was often compared to Audrey Hepburn, due to the combination of beauty, charismatic acting and talent. It was not an ideal career for the pretty dark-haired girl who hailed from a family of intellectuals her father worked as a dentist while mother was teaching. At school, she was bitten by the acting bug and decided to become a full-time actor. She completed acting courses at Cours Florent before landing her first TV movie Coeur de cible. Her movie debut in the feature film Venus Beauty Institute for which she was much appreciated. She is a daring actress who loves to test diverse roles. Her films range from Amelie which is a romantic comedy to Dirty Pretty Things, a thriller. Her birthplace was in France and was in a variety of French films prior to the film that made her Hollywood appearance in The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks. As a model she is considered to be a model of high esteem for her dressing sense and is considered to be a fashionista.
